The Ravens

A Pagan Training and Study Group,
focusing on Wicca and Witchcraft

Raven is a High Priestess of the Gardnerian Wiccan Tradition, downline from Gerald Gardner, the "father of modern wicca", and Patricia Crowther (High Priestess of the Sheffield Coven).

That said, who is Raven?

I am a 38 year old Sagittarian, who stumbled onto Wicca as a teenager (mainly as a result of being unhappy with the religious path my grandmother had put me on). I followed a solitary path, reading, studying and practising as much as I could, having escaped the familial home for university (I have degrees in Archaeology, History and English, and a PGCE)!

By the time I was in my mid-twenties I was looking for something more, and during a two year hiatus to Budapest, Hungary I made contact with a group claiming Gardnerian/Alexandrian roots. I worked with them until my return to the UK in 2006, where I made contact with Patricia Crowther, and through her made contact with a daughter coven of the Sheffield Coven, the Coven of the Seven Stars. As a member of this coven I proceeded through the three degrees of initiation, gaining my third in 2010.

I actively facilitate the Ravens Rest Moots, the Ravens Retreat Training and Study Group, and am High Priestess of the Coven of the Red Kite.

As well as all this, I am very active in promoting Paganism and Wicca to the wider public, and am heavily involved in the Interfaith movement in Leeds and the surrounding area. I am an active member of the Pagan Federation, both on a local and national level.

Outside of all things witchy and wonderful, I am a qualified Secondary and EFL teacher, with a special interest in Safeguarding and CSE, and I am exploring a variety of employment options. I am lucky to have the full support for all I do from my family, especially my long-term, non-pagan, partner and our two felines!
